About Us
Ana Gervasio is the founder of Yuzemi, an independent consultancy connecting Japanese artisans with international clients.
She spent over a decade living and working in Japan, where sustained immersion in daily life, materials, and cultural practice shaped her understanding of aesthetics and making. During this time, Ana became increasingly aware of the challenges international audiences face in accessing the work of some of Japan’s most accomplished craftspeople, shaped by gaps in information, language, and market context.
Yuzemi emerged from a desire to address this with care and integrity: to create considered connections between makers and clients who value provenance, material intelligence, and long-term engagement.
Ana’s relationship with craftsmanship is rooted in the ceremonial practices of Japanese tea, where objects are selected with precision and intention, and where context is inseparable from experience. This sensibility was deepened through making ceramics and eight years of practice as a traditional kintsugi artist, fostering a lasting respect for both the makers themselves and the narratives carried through their work.
Through repeated visits to the studios of artisans she works with, and over years of collecting, learning, and exchange, Ana has built enduring relationships grounded in trust and mutual understanding. Yuzemi grew organically from these connections and continues to be shaped by them.
Drawing on over twenty years in the luxury service industry across Asia, Europe, and South America, Ana brings clarity, discretion, and a long-term perspective to every collaboration.
Through Yuzemi, she works closely with interior designers, materials curators, and art consultants seeking thoughtful engagement with Japanese craftsmanship — informed by cultural understanding and sustained human connection.
